Hi Craig, I havent surfed for 20 yrs. i lived in OC Maryland and Hatteras NC. We had wimpy waves but I am not sure what I should be looking for. A long board or Short or even in between.

custom bilt

got a custom bilt surfboard and am completley satisfied. i was treated first rate the whole way. i got photos of the shaping process and the finished board along the way. the whole thing only took 2 1/2 weeks! (compare to 6 weeks other places) the board is of the highest quality and flys down the line. i am a bilt man all the way. ill be back shortly for a summer slop board once i get rid of the other (non bilts) i have thanks Craig! phil?

Bilt Surf Shop is just the BEST! Craig, Cocoa and all the guys there areextremely knowledgeable and are always very helpful with whatever Imlooking for. I always walk out of that shop satisfied and with a smile onmy face because of their wonderful help, prices, and awesome product! Ialready own a BiltLongboard and have been very happy with it! And just recently, I purchasedthe new ‘Clifford’ board!! Im a 6’2, 205lb, 36 year old average ability surfer and I searchedmany different shops here in Florida looking for a board like this, but itjust didnt exist until I walked into Bilt! I saw this board and totally freaked because it wasexactly what I wanted (a super-thick & wide shrunk down Longboard withfish qualities, basically a hybrid)! Well, I finally used the ‘Clifford’ a few weeks later on some clean, knee-waist high waves (which is exactly why I got the board) and I had a fricken blast! Even the Longboarders were trippin on what the hell I was riding! I was catching more waves than all of them and taking the waves all the way into the beach, it was AWESOME! They were all freaking out and just couldnt believe what they were seeing. The board is extremely easy to catch waves, a great paddler, very maneuverable, and super-FUN!! Its even pretty easy for me to duck dive, which I was a little worried about. Im sooooooooooo damn happy with this board and just wanted to share my stoke with you!! Cant wait until my next session, Im already addicted to this board! Thanks to Bilt and all their help for putting together a great quality board for me!!!

Bilt Surf Shop is amazing! I stopped in the store on my first day of vacation to rent a board, and ended up hanging out there for over an hour. Craig is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Throughout the week, I continued to come back to the shop for advice. Also, Craig hooked me up with a lesson with Bill McCarto (an amazing surfer), who really helped me advance to the next level of my surfing. I’ve been wanting to transition to a fish board for a long time, and these guys were perfect to talk to. After talking directly to Bagel (the shaper), I bought a beautiful 6’1″ X 20.5″ X 2.25″ Peli fish shape board. In my opinion, it’s the ONLY surf shop to go to. Craig – The Peli board you packed up for me made it back to NYC without a problem. Thanks for packing it so well! I’ll definitely be back in the future, and I’ll let you know how my new board performs. Thanks again! Christian?

Best Spring Break Ever

Me and two of my friends found the site online, and drove down from Purdue in Lafayette, IN, to learn how to surf. The prices were what originally attracted me to the store, but what made the trip completely worth it was how Craig, the owner, treated us. He was personable, informative, and really made the entire trip amazing. I could turn this post into long rant about the individual things he did for us, but instead I’ll make a recommendation. Take some time to walk into Bilt, and walk around for a while. Take a look at the prices, the quality of the products, and talk to Craig for a while. I know that if I ever need any gear, or advice, the first place I’m going is Bilt.?

Bilt Stands Behind Their Products

Purchased a Hyperflex Amp wetsuit in January 2009. I LOVE the wetsuit and used it almost every day (every day the waves cooperated, anyway). After 3 months of use, some of the seams had started to come unglued (most likely due to my use of warm/hot water to rinse off the suit in the shower after use). I brought the issue to Craig, who approached Hyperflex USA on my behalf. Between the two of them, my wetsuit was replaced at no charge in about a week. It is such a relief to work with companies that stand behind their products. After that experience, I decided to buy my first fiberglass board from Bilt. Craig offered me a fair price for my epoxy board and they worked with me to find the best board for me within my price range (and displayed A LOT of patience). I would DEFINITELY recommend both Bilt Surf Shop and Hyperflex anyday.?

Its Rob from Miami. I just wanted you to know that I LOVE my new ‘Clifford’ board!! I used it this past weekend here in Miami on some small, clean waves and I had a blast! Even the Longboarders were trippin on what the hell I was riding, hee, hee. I was catching more waves than all of them and taking the waves all the way into the beach, it was AWESOME man! They were all freaking out and just couldnt believe what they were seeing.

The board is extremely easy to catch waves, a great paddler, very maneuverable, and super-FUN!! Its even pretty easy for me to duck dive it, which I was a little worried about. Im sooooooooooo damn happy with this board and just wanted to share my stoke with you!! Cant wait until my next session, Im already addicted to it!

Whats up Craig?? Happy Friday to ya, I hope all is well!

FYI, I surfed yesterday down here in Miami with Izzy. Very small waves, but Izzy tried out the Clifford, was catching a lot of waves, and ended up loving it!! I let him use the board for about an hour to give him enough time to really get the feel of it. So, I’m thinking he will be getting in touch with you soon to buy something because the smile on his face the entire session said it all!! He was extremely stoked, just like I was and still am!!!! Ive never seen a smile like that on his face, it was great!

While Izzy was using my board I used his 9’1 Longboard and was actually struggling compared to the Clifford. Its much easier to catch waves with the Clifford for me. Its a magic board man and I absolutely LOVE it! THANKS again for such an amazing board!

THE BEST – I have visited Bilt a few times. On my last visit my husband and I went there for surfing lessons. Craig was great!!! I couldn’t have asked for better service. He was very informative and helpful with making sure we had everything we needed since the water was extremely cold in January. Bill was our instructor..he was the greatest…very patient and helpful. Put us at ease made us feel like was belonged there. The cost of items in this shop were unbelievably low. Surfing lessons were very reasonable. I will always!!! I mean always!!! go back to Bilt before anyone else.?

Hello Craig I would like to compliment your company with your Apparel Products. I was in Virginia Beach a couple of weeks ago and as many times as i have walked by the shop my son who is 17 saw the shirts and went crazy over them. The shirts are very unique and hand made , and sort of dressy. He has worn one to church which he got compliments from everyone. He friends have gone crazy over these shirts. Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that I love your boards and your customer service is fantastic. I purchased a board from Reno Beach in St. Petersburg, fl had it for a couple weeks and had the nose start to collapse, I took it back to Reno, spoke with your guys in Cocoa and they got me on to a new board with no questions asked. The new board has been great since then, it completed my quiver and the quality is tip top. Just thought I’d pass that along.
